GRATITUDES + BREAKTHROUGHS // MARCH 29, 2016

Gratitudes
A Thursday morning with longtime friends that included donuts and coffee, I’m always up for that. Above you’ll find a frame from Chrissi + Brandon’s recent lifestyle session. These two have a sweet pup, Chubs that joined them for this sunrise session. After the session we sat down for a much needed catch-up sess – the three of us have been friends since high school – and conversations with these two are never short of entertaining. If you know them you know exactly what I’m talking about!
Early birthday presents + Black Bottom Cupcakes also make the list this week. On Sunday, while we celebrated Easter (my family isn’t overly religious, we use it as an excuse to spend quality time together) we squished in my birthday as well. With that came early birthday presents, this year I got three amazing gifts: a pair of matte black Ray Ban’s I’ve been drooling over for a while and a new travel suite case set in purple – it matches my brand perfectly. It also mean that I got to choose a homemade dessert from my Grandma Jean and this time I went for her Black Bottom Cupcakes. For those of you who haven’t experienced them, image German Chocolate Cake with a moist cream cheese and chocolate chip filling. Perfect for those of you who don’t like icing. You can also try them with devil’s food cake, but Gran’s recipe calls for German Chocolate.
Breakthroughs
Identifying and respecting my needs was a big break through this weekend. March has been a busy month for me and while I love moving and traveling (Miami + Iceland) I crave silence and solitude. This past weekend I was able to tuck away into a cottage and disconnect for a while. I relaxed with my pup, caught up on sleep, read a little, cooked myself dinner, finally watched Straight Outta Compton and indulged in Cadbury eggs. I value that alone time more and more, and as I get older as it’s necessary for me to recharge. This week I feel energized and motivated to continue to kick ass at this business like finishing my taxes (eek!). I’m hoping when wedding season officially kicks off in April I’ll be able to remember to listen to my body and honor it’s request for downtime.
As always, thanks for reading. xoxo.
