Gratitudes
Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m sending each one of you a big huge hug today! I’ll be snuggled with the pups and feeding them extra special treats to show them my love. Who knows the might end up getting the new collars I’ve had in my Amazon cart for over a month. Devin and I will also be celebrating from afar but we have a great night planned for us! We will Facetime and watch the Netflix Michael Bolton Special while each making Kraft mac’n cheese. Ya’ll, the romance is realllllll.
A few weeks ago I had a playdate with Julie Abrera the flower goddess behind Beaumont House Design. If you’ve followed the blog you know her and I work together a lot! She introduced me to Cathleen Titcomb of Curious Fox Press, she does beautiful letterpress work and is local! Together the three of us styled and worked the afternoon away. It was so fun working without the pressure of a real event. We could take our time and experiment and I can’t wait to show you the gallery later today!
On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Eva + Hallie, two gals I just loved at a wedding reception. I saw them laughing and dancing together and I knew I needed photograph them. We met at Great Falls Park in the early morning and took a stroll until we got to a great location. I really wanted these to be relaxed and fun, like they were just hanging out and I think together we nailed it. I’ll be sharing a few of those in the next few weeks.
Kellyn came over on Saturday after the session and we took our three pups (Kellyn +1, me +2) for a long walk on the property. Mosby + Truffles played hard in the fields while Ava tagged along at our heels. It was so nice getting together even for an afternoon. With our work schedules we don’t see each other much, and now that she is planning for her first child our time is even more limited. After giving the dogs a much needed bath we all snuggled in the living room and talked more about Baby May.
Nail polish for this week continues to be dark, and went with a color from OPI’s starlight collection. Center Of The You-niverse is a black polish with black and silver micro-glitter. I was hesitant in picking it up because again, I don’t love glitter but this color really surprised me. It isn’t overly shiny and in my opinion is a little matte when it goes on. I love it so much I’ve worn it the last two weeks! If you’ve been afraid of blacks this would be a good way to introduce yourself.
Breakthroughs
Letting plans go is a big theme for the past two weeks. I’ve been frantically searching to buy a house, which I’m sure I’ve mentioned. I feel like I’ve looked at so many houses and each time I go to put an offer in or actually submit an offer I’m beat. My competitive nature is yelling at me to bid faster and higher, but my rational self is telling me to wait. My lease ends on April 1 so I’ve already begun cleaning, organizing and packing. I originally planned to have an offer place on a house and would move in February/March without feeling rushed. I’ve had a really hard time letting that idea go, so much so I was just grasping at houses. “This one is alright, I could probably live there, yeah I might be fine.” Why, why, why would I buy a house like that? I had to take the weekend off from stalking new listings on Realtor.com and take a yoga class to clear my head and get grounded.
I have come to the conclusion that I need to take my time, and that time might not align with my original plan. So more than likely I’ll move back in with my parents until I can find a home that I love and that accepts my offer. It will happen, I’m not sure when and I’m hopeful that it’ll be soon. Until then I’ll hit up my original yoga studio for clarity and grounding and laugh at celebrating my 32nd birthday living in my parents basement with 2 dogs and 1 cat.
As always, thanks for reading. xoxo.
