GRATITUDES + BREAKTHROUGHS // JULY 24, 2018
Gratitudes
Last week was filled with puppies and work. I signed up to help Kensey (Norman sister #4) so she could go on a work trip. That meant I got to stay in her house Airbnb style and puppy sit her frenchie Godzilla Ron. I brought Mosby along so she would have a playdate and I could knock out work. It was amazing how much work I could get done with fast and consistent internet access. I was on a roll. I stayed Monday through Thursday and the weather was beautiful. I had many coffee + sunshine breaks on her porch while Zilla + Mosby played keep-away in the yard.
Friday through Sunday I was at Kellyn’s (Norman sister #2) to hang out with their dog Truffles. Mosby tagged along for this play date too! These two are similar in size and play hard so they ripped through the backyard while I sat on the porch reading. I’m slowly getting through When She Woke. Saturday I was up at Slater Run Winery for the day and go to witness the massive amounts of rain that hit hunt country. Driving home was a bit scary with all of the standing water on the roads but I made it. With access to internet + Netflix I watched the second season of Anne with an E. SO CUTE!
Sunday was a full day. I met Rachel (The One Moment Events), Cece (Postskript Co.), Kir (Kir2Ben), Brett (Brett Denfeld Photography), Sarah (Wanderlust Wed Co.) and Janessa at Greenhill Vineyards! We were so lucky the rain held off and we were able to sit outside to enjoy our wine and small plates. I tried three wines their Blanc de Blancs 2016, Cab Franc 2016 and Syrah Rosé 2017. I was a big fan of the rosé and the cab!
After that I ran over to 48 Fields to work on a styled shoot organized and styled by Christina of Happily Hitched. I was so flattered when she reached out to ask me to photograph it! It had true summer vibes with bright pops of orange, pink and yellow! Large striped umbrellas, ice cream cone cake pops, linen + calligraphy seating charts, a vintage bar truck with fancy cocktails and insane florals! I am so excited to edit and wait for my film scans to come back in! As soon as I can I’ll be sharing the full gallery! Below is a full list of vendors that contributed:

I know I’ve talked about my business coach before Kristen Kalp and I had a mid season call scheduled with her. It was a check-in of sorts as well as a brainstorming session for my yoga clients. I am so freaking excited to be offering branding packages for yoga studios, teachers and now brands! I’ll be putting more information out on my website this week and making an official announcement! If you’re a small business owner and you need someone to keep you accountable, to sort through all of your business owner thoughts + ideas and create a plan to execute them… reach out to Kristen! She’s been the biggest and most instrumental change in my business this year!
I also went to a consultation at Smile Direct Club. I’ve been wanting to straighten out my teeth from when I lost my retainer in you know… 2000. So I scheduled my appointment and I loved their customer service and their program sees promising. I’m waiting to hear back from the dentist about my projected plan before I fully commit. I should know by the end of the week. Have any of you ever used Smile Direct Club before? What was your experience?
Breakthroughs
This rain has been crazy! I’m not a historian or a meteorologist but, this has to be one of the wettest summers we’ve ever had! I will say though I welcomed the rain this past weekend. It’s been so nice to slow down during a busy part of the year to catch up on behind the scenes business tasks and naps – oh and also laundry. In the swing of the season so many operating tasks fall behind like mileage tracking, expense reporting and social media scheduling. These last few days though I have been making a dent in my “get this shit done” list. I’m hoping Wednesday and Thursday are the same before I head to Virginia Beach for a sunrise engagement session on Friday!
As always, thanks for reading. xoxo
