GRATITUDES + BREAKTHROUGHS // OCTOBER 11, 2016

Gratitudes
Thursday through Sunday of this week I was locked down at Stafford House of Yoga for their 200hr yoga teacher training. The entire long weekend was filled with heated Power Yoga classes, practice teaching (eek!), journaling and exercises to dig deep and find out inner voice. I knew physically I would be tired, we practice at least once a day, sometimes two with the added workshop on poses and alignment, what I wasn’t prepared for was being mentally and emotionally exhausted. There is a lot of self-work done in this program that I wasn’t prepared for, it helps you sort through your initial and safe response to come realize your true dreams and your voice.
My planner was a big hit this week. I think I wrote about getting organized and falling back into a planner a few weeks ago. This week it was really tested. I have to say I’m so much more productive and on-time with balancing tasks and checking off my to-do list. I personally fell in love with Whitney English and her Day Designer 2 years ago, and she recently partnered with Target and they are now carrying her design. It’s a hefty planner but for me, I am in need of space. I write, scribble and cross of so many to-dos throughout the day. My favorite part is her “Top Three” section and a designated spot to write down your gratitudes for the day. If you’re looking to hop into the planner world, this one is totally for you.
With fall finally here and the season of being thankful – I had to turn the heat on yesterday – I wanted to pass along the most adorable idea. While practicing this weekend the studio had a pumpkin out with a sign that said “Gratitude Pumpkin.” Yogis were encouraged to write what they were personally grateful for, you could read anything from pumpkin spice lattes, peace, and spending time with family or sweatshirts. I’m scooping one up this week to start at my house. It’ll be a nice little reminder throughout the next few weeks!
Nail polish check in: This week I went with an old favorite Can you Tapas This? I could have been the insane craving I had for mexican this week, don’t worry I realize tapas are spanish. Either way, I was feeling this muddy brick red. I saw on a blog recently someone called it a raisin brown – pretty accurate. You know I love the cream, and this one was thick enough for two even coats. It’s that hint of fall without getting too dark for those freezing cold winter months. If you can find it – probably through Amazon, I would recommend it!
Breakthroughs
I’ve said this before, and I need to again this week. In order to keep this space authentic and real I need to leave it blank while I work on a potential breakthrough. Hopefully something good for you guys next week!
As always, thanks for reading. xoxo.
