GRATITUDES + BREAKTHROUGHS // JANUARY 10, 2017

Gratitudes
I just got the most exciting email, Wedding Wire has honored me with a Couples’ Choice Award! This goes out to the top 5% of wedding professionals on Wedding Wire. I’d would really like to thank all of my amazing couples from 2016, without your trust and support this wouldn’t have been possible. I’m so excited for what 2017 has to offer!
On Wednesday, I grabbed a quick lunch with my friend Ayla, you know the one I was running around Italy with over the summer. I haven’t seen her since I left the boot and grabbing lunch was the least we could do without short time together. Ayla drove down in the morning to drop off her little yorkie Ollie to stay with me for a few weeks while she travels with her family to Italy to bury her Nonna. I took her and her Dad (he tagged along for the roadtrip aspect) to my favorite sandwich shop in Middleburg, Middleburg Deli. Even though it was a short trip, it was nice being face to face and sharing a meal. Right now, I have three pups in the house and Ollie, who was a rescue with a social anxiety and the endearing personality of a grumpy 83 year old man but he is adapting quickly to the pace of Mosby puppy and Ava and country life. I imagine in the next few weeks he’ll be begging to go outside by himself too!
Kensey closed on her house on Thursday, so I bundled up and helped move her with the rest of the family. It was freezing but it was also sort of magical to watch her and Jason transition to a new home while flurries were sprinkling down outside. Jason had to head out of town for the weekend so we planned a sisters sleepover which actually turned into take-out and a movie. We shared Thai and laughed together at How to be Single. I know I’ve said it before but I’m lucky to have sisters that I’m so connected too.
I don’t know if you saw but James Madison University won the FCS National Championship on Saturday beating Youngstown State University 28-14. I didn’t get to watch the full game but I was wearing my “I bleed purple shirt!” to show my support! J-M-U DUKES!
In cheering for and celebrating JMU’s amazing victory I went with OPI’s A Grape Fit. It’s a true purple with a blue undertone. I was nervous it would be a little too cheerful for these colder days but I like that it brings that pop of color. I have loved this color for years, so much in o on I’m on my second bottle.
Breakthroughs
I’ve always done a huge list of new year’s resolutions, but this year I decided to approach it differently. Instead I’m making a list of 3 words that I want to work on and into my life as well as a list of goals or activities I want to participate in. I’m working on and bringing in vulnerability, self care and peace. I’m hoping to be open to more vulnerability, more demanding with self care and to be able to create more peace in my life. In addition I’m hoping to travel a bit more, enjoy regular yoga classes, potentially start a new business (you heard it here first), practice Italian, play with my film cameras and complete FIND in a box, read more and pen more handwritten letters.
Here’s to big dreams in 2017.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading, xoxo.
